Tapestry needles range from 18-28, the larger the number, the smaller the needle and the smaller the needle, the smaller the eye of the needle. I use these 24's for cross stitch using embroidery thread on a 14-count Aida fabric. If you are using a larger count fabric or canvass, or if you're using yarn, you would need a larger eye of the needle and therefor a lower numbered size.
