    Great book but maybe not for pig lovers!

Ok this book is brilliantly written and put together! It has all the information you could ever need and more, so I rate the book itself as very good! HOWEVER, I purchased this as a gift for my wife who LOVES pigs and wants one as a pet, and well half way through this book it starts talking about the best way to kill and burcher your pig. She was massively shocked and upset by this (images of pig carcasses and heads were included), and so I would say it is not so good for people wanting to know more about just keeping pigs as a pet. Be warned!

This book is excellent and makes a great cover to cover read for anyone interested in keeping pigs. It covers all aspects of pig care from paperwork, housing, feeding, handling, regulations, illnesses, slaughtering and selling the produce - and more besides. It answered all my questions and really stimulated my interest to learn even more. Liz's enthusiasm for the pigs comes through on every page. Highly recommended.

We are thinking of getting pigs and this little gem gives all the helpful info, right from questioning why; what breeds; how to house and feed; down to the gory end stages. Factual, in depth guide but beautifully photographed. Our whole family poured over it for hours! I’m sure it will remain a useful reference to dip in and out of once we get the pigs too. Just what we needed.
