The interior is lined with a silver material, and has plenty of room inside for our two keyrings each of which has the car fob and lots of other keys attached, but could also store our mobile phones too. I saw some reports of boxes breaking or being split, but ours is fine and seems sturdy and durable enough - no signs of any damage, but as with everything you don't want to rough it around or be clumsy. My husband fixed it without much effort and it's now fine, but he really shouldn't have had to!
