Not directly as it contains fittings that you do not need and which would be unsuitable for connecting the hose reel to the tap. Whether you need one of these as being necessary is another question. In practice they're rarely used. Non-return valves stop small amounts of (generally non-toxic) contaminants in your hose getting into the household water supply - especially when using a pressure washer. Just running the connected tap and the one nearest to it for a few seconds should flush the plumbing. **Q: Can anyone help my grandson was playing with my garden hose and has lost the part that I need to fit onto a gun or spray I’m not sureif this will do** A: I use a Hozelock hose and also have another type of hosepipe. I recently bought a Hozelock Watering Set From their site on Amazon, it contains different parts to use for different uses, spray guns, sprinkler, etc. On the back of the packaging it explains what each item is for, the fittings are universal and so these items fit both my hoses and taps. None of our fittings will turn the water off actually at the tap. All of our spray guns have a facility to turn the water flow off internally though. The red and yellow connector shown will shut off the water when the spray gun or nozzle is removed but as mentioned none of them will actually turn water off at the tap end.
