Thanks** A: You can't use USB sticks as extra storage, but you can use them to back up game saves, etc. Better to buy a caddy and a hard drive (say, 250 or 320Gb?) and insert it into the 12Gb version for cheaper than the 500Gb version. **Q: Is this PS3 backwards compatible? Will I be able to play PS2 games on it?** A: Absolutely. You can play any PS2 or 3 game provided they are not "pirate". You cannot play PS1 games HOWEVER on the PlayStation network (which is already on your console) you have the option to purchase older games such as the original Spyro trilogy and I believe they also sell Crash which are PS1 games but they are downloaded and do not have discs. This is the only way to play them. I suggest if you want to play lots of PS3 or download PS1 games then you should purchase a PS3 with MUCH more memory than this (500G) or purchase the hard drive update which will give you more room as 12GB can allow you to play and have about 3-4 PS3 games saved and 3 small PS1 games and one film on the hard drive. To continue playing lots of games you have to delete the game from the PS3 once complete, this does not delete any trophies and internet is free with your own broadband connection. **Q: does this come with hdmi cable** A: Some come with more accessories than others. Read the description for the item you buy. Condition varies. Persevere when setting up, you can read some people give low scores because they don't know what they're doing. Crazy. **Q: If i buy an expandable hdd for this model does it fit inside the console, or will it sit outside of the console the same way it would with a pc?** A: You will need a 2.5" internal HDD and a ps3 hard drive bracket sold separately. I already subscribed to MUBI, for instance, and, whereas my TV can access that sites films, the PS3 could also show their mini-film festival short movies too (the latter didn't even show up with just TV access to MUBI).The PS3 Super Slim does all of the above and has an excellent Blu-ray player built in as well. I can't comment on its games facilities as haven't yet tried them (a low priority for me) but the rest is exactly what I'd been looking for. The quality of the picture and audio is brilliant, marginally better than the direct internet access via my Sony Bravia HD TV.The console is quiet in operation (though not absolutely silent like my other separate Blu-ray Player).It is reasonably easy to set up and the online software update works fine.Excellent so far. ### ⭐ extremely unhappy another christmas ruined *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 28 October 2015* this is the 3rd time I have ordered a ps3 super slim and it has been faulty. This was meant to be a Christmas present for my younger brother. I paid out £210.88 pounds for a 500 gig hard drive and this ps3, and the ps3 wont read the hard drive and when I try and play any games I get an error message saying "unable to load" and I have tried it with a pre ordered game which was 'Destiny Taken King' that he wanted. it has given me the same message over and over. I would like my money back on a full refund so that l can get him one from a shop. I have also been in contact with Sony and they have stated the ps3 is faulty and that I should return it to the retailer. I am seriously not happy my brother has had it real hard since he was 10 years old with our mother fighting Cancer and our father leaving us on Christmas l am trying very hard to give my brother a decent Christmas the first in 7 years yet it seems that another Christmas is to be ruined by these fake sellers. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wow, what a console! *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 25 February 2013* When the PS3 12gb Slim appeared it had finally hit a price point I was prepared to pay (£149), I only wish it had arrived at this level a few years back. The PS3 is such a versatile console it gets used virtually everyday, be it for watching Netflix, Blue Ray or playing games. The 12gb HDD is pretty pathetic and we had filled it up within a week. It took a few days to find a compatible 160gb disk for under £15 and a caddy for £10 and suddenly we had a console that at the time people were paying around £200 for, so it really is a bargain at this price. The fact that the 12gb is not disk based storage makes transferring your save data across to a new HDD a doddle, with no need to create back ups and restore data, you just put a new drive in and follow the instructions. One point I will mention is that I found it very difficult to track down anywhere that tells you how to access the HDD bay on this particular model. This situation may have improved but in case you are stuck it is one of the oval shaped panels at the end of the machine. It is fiddly but you slide and pull it and it will come off.The main strength of the PS3 is its gameplay, and game support. We have a rival console which sits gathering dust due to a lack of decent games for it (Hint: it sounds a bit like a toilet function). There is no such shortage of great games for the PS3, and they look fantastic.
