Linux recognizes it just by plugging it in to the USB port. The only problem I had was unfamiliarity with the software. It came with the Cubase recording software, which just baffled me. Using Audacity is very simple though. You just need to choose Lexicon from the 2 drop down menus. **Q: Does the Lexicon Lambda work on windows 10 and also does it work with audacity?** A: The Alpha and Lambda do not provide drivers for Windows 10. I had to do a massive restore back to Win 7 because I did not research this with Lexicon prior to my intended upgrade. There is apparently a workaround in Windows 10 but... in all due respect (I recorded hundreds of songs using one of these) these interfaces are showing their age and with them not updating their drivers for several years, I would advise anyone to tread carefully with these. **Q: Can I drive my passive monitor speaker set with this interface without an additional amp?** A: Don't think so. Need some kind of powered speaker.
