To be honest I haven't had the courage to do this job. The leather hat is brand new and cost me over Β£90 and I'm a bit frightened of ruining it. I think trying to change red to cream would be a tall order, and it is a dye for leather, not sure how it would cope with vinyl. Obviously, if you were dying a scuff mark, you would not want to get the dye on the surrounding area as it would darken it. You could use masking tape to avoid this and a cotton bud to apply the dye to small areas.
