Hozelock (and other British make) fittings screw straight on. Funny really, you would expect them to be Garden Hose thread, but they don't seem to be. I must have a closer look! **Q: Can I use a hose connector to supply water as my external tap has been replaced by a direct connection to a hozelock 4 way tap connector, with timers.** A: Hello, Many thanks for your query. The unit has a 3/4” female inlet BSP thread, which is the standard outdoor tap in the U.K. If your outlet has a quick connect (most common in Hozelock), you may need to get an adapter. This said, with this unit and the options it provides you, you would not need a four way outlet. Of course, without knowing the full intended application. The minimum operating pressure is 1.72bar (25 PSI) to open the valves which is unlikely to be achieved from a water butt, although we have had some customers in the past who have hit that pressure from their water butt. However it is designed and tested to work from a garden tap. Even the bracing bar works better than I thought it would. Great design, although the programming is a bit naff.It works though but could be more flexible and intuitive. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good System, Astonishingly High Price! *by B***A on 1 August 2019* I bought this package back in November 2015 and it's now well into its fourth year of operation. No problems encountered - highly reliable. However, it only cost me £69 back then, not the £129 currently charged!! Also, I bought two additional valves at about £10.50 each - they are now nearly £33 each!! So I couldn't recommend this system at the vastly inflated prices of today. Only down side is that the thread that attaches to your outside tap is of poor quality metal that totally rusted on and would require a lot of work to release. The grip feature around the screw thread to attach to the tap is totally useless and merely slips round. Recommend thinking carefully about rust prevention for this particular feature. Also, as long as you remove valves and control unit before any frosts then it should last for many years. Control unit is totally waterproof (or at least mine is). You can leave the manifold attached over winter as long as you drain it of water and leave the taps open.
