Product Description Simply the Paste The ARCTIC MX-6 is a carbon filler-based thermal paste and reaches its maximum performance without burn-in, directly after application and distribution. It achieves all of this without any reputed ingredients, such as expensive diamond dust or various precious metal particles. The silicone gel used as a carrier enables optimal distribution, which is achieved through even contact pressure, for example when mounting the heat sink. 20% Better Performance With its improved composition, the ARCTIC MX-6 has a measurably lower thermal resistance than the MX-4. We measured the absolute thermal resistance of both pastes on our lab-testing machine, which is much more accurate than a CPU. Two factors are mainly relevant -Conductivity -Minimum Bond Line thickness A lower thermal resistance of the paste leads to a lower temperature difference between CPU and cooler. Easy application MX-6 is neither electrically conductive nor capacitive. This eliminates the risk of short circuits or discharges, which can cause serious damage to components if care is not taken. The thermal paste is also free of liquid metal components, which can often lead to discoloration, abrasion or corrosion damage to the radiator bottom. Available in several versions ARCTIC MX-6 is available in package sizes from 2 to 8 grams. Resealable syringes prevent the paste from drying out and facilitate dispensing. Alternatively, the variants with MX Cleaner are available. These enable simple and residue-free cleaning of the contact surfaces. A: Arctic silver is conductive and MX6 is non conductive. Not a good idea using conductive paste.

**Q: What is the thermal conductivity expressed in w/mk? other paste show in the description 12.8 w/mk for example, more w/mk is better to dissipate heat.**
A: Why doesn’t ARCTIC communicate thermal conductivity values?
ARCTIC made a conscious decision not to specify any values for the thermal conductivity of its thermal paste and thermal pads, because many manufacturers invent, artificially inflate or embellish this value. Thermal paste has a thermal conductivity of 1 to 4 W/mK. Values outside of this range, such as 12.5 W/mK, are at odds with the truth.
Many competitors quote values above 4 W/mK to suggest better performance. This often leads to false expectations and dissatisfied users.

**Q: What is the difference between the mx-5 and mx-6? they both claimed 20% better than mx-4.**
A: Each new model is a 20% upgrade over the last. MX-6 being the better. The others are now out of production, so any bought are from left over stock and are encroaching upon their expiration date ( Not anytime soon)

Very good product and does what it’s supposed to. Easy to apply and works well for keeping temperatures under control. Used it on a CPU and saw stable temps with no issues. Good quality thermal paste and a reliable choice if you’re building or maintaining a system.
