Overall first impressions are good the build quality is great, I’m not a massive fan of the pen solution or magnets being exposed as they may work lose but only time will tell. However, it doesn't matter as the PEN does not need to be charged (according to Kindle's own information in the Scribe's listing). An aside, I really like this case. It's much cheaper than Amazon's offering and opens like a book as opposed to a primary school notepad. **Q: Lighter than official Amazon Scribe cover?** A: No it is heavier than the Amazon cover but definitely more functional for reading **Q: How to clean the black cover surface -- especially removing fingerprints?** A: I have been successful just using a moist paper towel, not too wet, just damp! For food or fingerprints I have also used a warm damp paper towel with a touch of dish soap! It's hard to find fault with this case, it offers fantastic protection, very sturdy and well made. BUT sadly it's simply too heavy for hand holding whilst reading (I mean really heavy!). If you are doing a lot travelling / commuting with your Scribe, this case offers truly superb protection.
