It is suitable for all students who are learning about atoms and molecules from GCSE to degree level. For example, you can put two hydrogen and one oxygen atoms together to form a molecule of water. Or you can create a more complex molecule such as ethyl alcohol, then attach further atoms or molecules to demonstrate a chemical reaction. This kit was purchased for an undergraduate who requested it to help with their studies and it was well received
Review: Excellent beginner's kit - An excellent basic kit to help with visualising structures of simple molecules. This is not the first Molymod kit I've had, and it's great to see the quality hasn't gone down over the years. It gives you faith that you can build on these kits with time and further education. My /only/ critique of this set would be the box is slightly too small, meaning you sometimes need to jostle the parts to fit the lid on. But that's a very minor problem with the set.

**Q: does this come with a removal tool**
A: No, but we did not need one. It works excellently without any 'extra' tool.

**Q: Does the lid close well please ?**
A: The lid closes well enough.  However, if it falls as you hold it it may come off, because the lid is a separate part that you place on top of the container part and does not have a separate mechanism to 'secure it' further.  We have experienced no problem with it however. It is an excellent set for learning.

**Q: Can you create different conformers of molecules, such as cyclohexane?**
A: Yes, this kit comes with sufficient Carbon and Hydrogen atoms to model different isomers and conformers of molecules including cyclohexane.

**Q: Can this be used for organic chemistry?**
A: Yes, this molymod 64 atom set includes  8 carbon, 18 Hydrogen, 7 Oxygen and 4 Nitrogen atoms and so is capable making Organic  molecules that contain up to 8 Carbon atoms, including Alkanes Alkenes, Alkynes, Aldehydes, Ketones, Carboxylic acids, Esters, Acyl Chlorides, Aromatics & Amines and the various simple Inorganic molecular VSEPR shapes studied at Advanced Level Chemistry.

This kit is a really helpful and practical way for anyone to get to grips with molecules. It gives you faith that you can build on these kits with time and further education.
