It’ll do for a few years until I get another car. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Better than the original (read my review to make the install a breeze)! *by F***T on December 4, 2024* When you receive this cover, which is half the price of the cardboard/felt OEM one, you will notice that it is folded and bent. To prepare it for installation, take it out the night before and place it on a table. Put heavier objects on top to help flatten it out and make it easier to install. The original design was made of cardboard and a felt fuzzy material. While it was good, it could easily break down if hit by rocks or oil. This new version is made of hard plastic and is almost twice as strong as the old one. It is very durable, easy to clean, and should last much longer than the OEM cover. It almost fits perfectly in the original locations on my 2014 Ford Focus, but the dimensions for the screw holes at the "wings" are slightly off. I suggest having replacement screws with very large attached washers, as the attachment holes are larger than the OEM ones. You can find these screws on Amazon for $5-10 easily. When installing the cover, start by placing the center back screw and turning it a few revolutions to secure it. Then, move to the front center and do the same, leaving 90% of the screw untightened. This is important because the fit and position of the screw holes are slightly off, and tightening each screw as you go may cause problems with the installation. Once all the screws are in place, you can tighten them down. This method ensures that the cover is properly aligned and installed without any hassle. While there may have been some issues during the manufacturing process that caused the screw holes to be slightly off, this cover is still a great replacement for the OEM one. Most junkyards do not have these covers/shrouds, as people often remove them from the vehicles to use as protective layers when pulling parts underneath the vehicles.
