Faultless hot iron cleaner effectively removes residues from the soleplate of a hot iron. Cleans while the iron is hot. Easily removes melted synthetic fabrics, patch glue and starch. Safe for all metal, Teflon and Silverstone surfaces. Makes irons glide. Easy and handy to use. Use each time you finish ironing to maintain the soleplate. Non-toxic.

Review: It does work. - I really rate this because it works. It's easy to use but I find you do have to give it a bit of elbow grease. I use it by folding an old tea towel into four and draping it over the very edge of the ironing board. Put a small amount of the iron cleaner on the tea towel where it's at the edge of the board then once your iron is up to temperature rub the burnt part firmly over the cleaner and the marks should start to come off. Depending on how burnt the soleplate is you may have to repeat the process a few times putting more of the cleaner in a different place on the tea towel each time, ( I keep an old tea towel specifically for this job and just wash it when I do my cleaning cloth wash ) There is a bit of an unpleasant smell whilst using the cleaner but it doesn't linger. It's worked for me every time I've used it and I always keep a tube of this in the cupboard.

**Q: How do you actually use it? I have a steam iron that the bottom is pretty much all brown/black.**
A: Apply some of the paste to a soft cloth and rub onto the iron plate that you have pre-warmed. I use it for removing sticky residues from bondaweb when applying appliqué, or when I've accidentally ironed something on too hot a setting. It does a really good job, but you may need to apply quite a bit if your base plate is very brown. Cheaper than a new iron though!

**Q: Does the iron have to be hot? Or can I use it on a slightly warm iron?**
A: I used it on a hot iron as per instructions.

**Q: Would this be suitable for use on a steam press?**
A: Hi, It would depend what the plates are made of...the Faultless Hot Iron Cleaner is safe for use on all metal, Teflon® and Silverstone® surfaces. If your steam press plate has a different surface and you are able to advise the material we will be happy to request further information from the manufacturer for you. **Q: Can I use on ceramic sole plate**
A: Dear Maria,  We have contacted Faultless who have responded "Faultless Hot Iron Cleaner will be safe and effective on most soleplates, including ceramic, metal, Teflon, and Silverstone. The paste is mildly abrasive. If there is any doubt as to the delicate nature of an iron's soleplate, we do encourage the user to follow all instructions from the iron's manufacturer.
