A: No, a clip on the device fits into the standard hole in the guitar.

**Q: Do you have to drill the uke to play it over your shoulder? Like a guitar?**
A: No, a clip fits into standard guitar hole

**Q: When using it as a neck strap, how are the 2 ends of the strap connected?**
A: They are sewn together.  See photo

**Q: What is the hook made of --- plastic or rubber? I'm worried about it scratching my expensive uke.**
A: It's made of plastic, and personally I've never had a problem with scratching, but you could, I suppose, apply a small felt pad or two to the inside of the plastic hook?
