Sometimes I find myself flying through a tune and thinking "Wow, I can't be picking this up this quickly". I've been playing for 10 years and it is only now that I have started focusing on reading music. This book is a great resource as everything is explained in a clear and functional way. The author says it is important for students to learn by playing music they have not already heard, and the music provided although may not be recognisable, still sounds like a good piece as well as functions well as an exercise to improve your note reading abilities.
