Apologies, but I just wasn't willing to open up my MBPro to test a Samsung Spinpoint M9T 2TB in the second space (optical replacement caddy) - so the assumption is that... 2TB SSDs work fine in the primary bay, but 2TB SSD do not work on the optical drive's SATA port. Yes, I did take out the Samsung 2TB SSD from second/optical slot, put the 1TB Crucial back in which worked, and then lay down a GPT table with one partition on the Samsung 2TB, and then put the Samsung 2TB back in, but still no joy. So, now I'm running with Samsung 850 Pro 2TB SSD as primary and Crucial M500 1TB SSD as secondary. All recovered via Time Machine. And I love that TM/TC, wonderful. I've given this review 5 stars because it's fast.
