Awful. 2. Do not fall for a long arm, if you extend it over than halfway, the base tips over. Probably is ok when you use the clamp though. The whole structure is quite flimsy as well. One star because it fails to do its job. Is this item made of stainless steel or not?** A: Hi David. The base and arm are made from steel - sprayed black. The magnifier surround is moulded black plastic and the magnifyer is a rigid plastic. Only downside is that you get glare from any fixed overhead lighting, but if you have an angle poise lamp - you should be fine. Hope this helps. **Q: My disabled father cannot see his i pad very well would this work as a magnifier he is unable to hold anything** A: No meed fro an extra magnifier ipads, iphones and also android phones/tablets have one built in. (You may need to enable it in the accessibility settings - it's called something like 3 tap magnification). Tap on the ipad screen 3 times in quick succession - this will magnify the screen where he taps. He can then move around the display using 2 finger drag (sometimes 1 finger as per normal use). Also he could hold down with 2 fingers and spread them apart to increase the size of web pages etc - doesn't work on the app selection page but the 3 taps works when looking at anything. **Q: Can this product be clipped to a piano book stand? The first one arrived with a large crack on the perspex so I had to request another one.
