The seal does let a bit of a smell out if stored in a confined space such as a car but I didn't lay it down to see if it leaked. The mixing bottles that I've used before all leaked from the cheap seams but this one is very durable so far! Review: Wider bottom needed... - It's brilliant! As advertised. Leak proof (so far). Lid is for measuring the oil and lidding tight. Maybe the bottom could be a little wider than the top. Petrol and two-stroke oil. **Q: Is this suitable for 50:1 ?** A: Yes it is it does 25:1and 50 :1 it is good product for mixing petrol/oil **Q: The Mark where says 1 L do fill just below or just above this line** A: just above is best. **Q: Will the oil not stick in the threads when pouring, seems like a silly design. Not as bad as the Stihl 5L cans that have no measurement units at all.** A: I’ve got two of these. I use one for mixing petrol and two stroke oil (lawn mower, power tools for the garden) and the other is under the seat in the car for answering to the call of nature when on long journeys. If you don’t mind me saying, I think your question could be described using the same words it contains. The item is brilliant. Oil, when at a certain viscosities will stick to many surfaces. I’ve had many mixing bottles which leak or are difficult to pour, but this has never let me down. It’s an excellent product. I also have the Stihl 5l van and that too is brilliant for pouring unleaded fuel.
