I recommend having about 30g of it at a time and towards to end of the bag, i drip a little bit of water from the tap into a bowl with some of the billtong in it and microwave for 10 seconds. I ate the lot over a period of about 3-4 weeks and all packets tasted just as fresh as it did on day 1. (Side note: i think the suggested consumption period is somewhat conservative given that its cooked, dried, spiced meat for crying out loud; the original point of jerky/biltong was to make it last without refrigeration. >I thought the level of spice was perfect - it creeps up on you and has an aftertaste that leaves you wanting more, but this will undoubtedly be down to personal preference.
