Cracking tends to happen if the product has not dried out. **Q: Is it ok to plaster\skim over the treated area?** A: My artexed ceilings were recently plaster-skimmed. The contractor recommended that I first coat a stain from a plumbing leak with "stain-block". Before skimming the ceilings, he scraped the texture from the artex and then applied a solution of PVA adhesive (it may have been Uni-bond). Hence the plaster skim was applied over the PVA solution which was over the stain-block. The stain has not re-appeared. **Q: Can i put this on painted walls?** A: In theory you can. Please be very careful though, as when I used it I ended up with a far worse situation than I had started with. To begin with, I applied one coat of damp seal on a painted wall, but it didnt work, and the bubbles in the paint kept coming back. Eventually I resorted to six coats of damp seal on a wide area of wall, not just the affected area,allowing a couple of days between each coat, followed by three coats of emulsion, and it still didnt work. On the contrary, the damage just kept getting worse. Appears white when painted. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well, make sure you leave to dry before painting over (and you’ll need 2 coats) *by A***N on 2 April 2024* Great product, used in a few patches over the home where there had been water staining (works very well on this) and some ongoing damp issues, this particular patch was the worst. I removed some of the damaged plaster and used a poly filla product and sanded down then applied the paint. So far the damp has not returned. There are other patches which have returned, however there is an issue with the external wall so will reapply once this issue has been resolved!
