By a mile. *by L***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 7 January 2018* I can honestly say that this is the best phone case I have bought for my iPhone 7 Plus. By a mile.I have previously bought clear gel cases, with the aim of keeping with the slim profile of the phone and to show it off, but all of these clear cases that I bought, no matter how good their features were or how cheap/expensive, all eventually needed replacing because they turned nicotine yellow! (Urgh!) Oh, and I don’t smoke!This is what made me decide to try this matte black case. I was originally a bit sceptical, firstly as I was worried that the black case would completely alter the colour/look of my sleek black iPhone (compared with clear cases) and secondly, as I thought the matte finish would give me less grip than the gloss finish gel case variety.I have to say that on neither account should I have been worried. In fact, the finish of this matte black case is so similar to the colour of the black iPhone 7 Plus that, aside from it hiding the Apple logo on the rear, I often forget it has a case on at all! As far as grip is concerned, although the grip of gloss gel cases I have bought is marginally better, the grip that this case provides is still far better than when holding the iPhone with no case on at all.And after 4 months of having this case on my phone, it has not discoloured or perished in any way!As far as all my other requirements go, I can honestly say that this case does not compromise on any of them:It has a slim profile.All the cutouts for lightning connector/ speaker etc.are in the right places.It has a raised ‘lip’ on the front to protect the screen when placed face down.Importantly, it has a raised ‘lip’ over the rear camera, meaning that the camera lense does not contact with any flat surface when the iPhone is placed on its back.Silicone gel construction is just the right material to avoid scratching your phone when putting the case on but rigid enough to stay in perfect shape around your phone.My final point is that I would never buy a phone case unless it passed on ALL of the points above, and this phone case really does!If I really had to find a negative, then all I can say is that it’s perhaps not the most protective case you can buy, unlike the more cumbersome and bulky ‘armour’ cases.
