**Q: Will my echo still work outside when i take mine in backyard?**
A: Get a battery base. We take ours on the deck every day in the summer and rock around the clock

**Q: What size battery does this have? What is the rated battery life while using it?**
A: I had one that went bad so I thought I would try replacing the battery. It uses lithium-ion batteries like are used in a laptop battery pack. But, these also have a charging board sealed into the top of the wrapping on the batteries. It would be unlikely that you could replace the batteries without destroying the charging circuit. The best bet, buy a new base. As to how long will it run..... quite a while. I frequently take ours outside to play music and after 4 hours it still had a lot of life left in the battery.

**Q: Does it come with echo speaker together with battery?**
A: No. The echo speaker is sold separately

**Q: Can you leave the base plugged in full time and also attach the Echo device for use?**
A: Hey customers, This battery base designed with high tech chip set, however we donot recommend to leave the plugged in full time when it's charged full ,it's better to unplug for use when it's full later , thanks for your attention again

The battery base charged fully and is still holding a full charge as of this review. I tried it by unplugging the cord and the Echo works well and the charger still holds its charge. It ads a new look to the Echo and you can now take it anywhere you want. Definitely worth the money.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ May no longer be made

Our first one ran for about 2 years and 4 months then suddenly died (battery failure). Batteries could not be replaced because of special circuitry built into the battery pack. No replacement packs are available.I ordered another one and set it up. Started to charge the battery then it died completely. I then ordered another one which I received and it is working just fine. Returned the bad one to Amazon for a replacement (to keep as a spare) but was notified that they were no longer available and may never be again.When using it I get around 6 hours of music on my Echo. It works quite well. If this one ever dies I will have to go without it as there are no other battery bases compatible with the Echo 3 listed on Amazon.

I’ve been through multiple iterations of different battery bases for my different generations of Alexa, and this one is by far my favorite. Works reliably, charges easily, and lasts long. Just took it to an outdoor party where it worked on high settings for over 4 hours. I’ve also had it for months and it has lasted through the beat-up of my children dragging it around the house for dance parties :)
