My setup is a Xonar U7 with RCA to RCA going to M Audio BX5 Carbons, there is a static buzz when I turn up the monitors more than a quarter of the way (I've had to resolve to just using the software volume control, which is meant to give the best quality anyway). I bought this to eliminate the ground loop buzz, it did reduce it a lot, but at the same time it completely degraded the sound quality of the music played through it.
