I already had a Monokey top box from my old motorbike and wanted to move this across to my new bike. It was very easy to install on my using the existing luggage rack which came with the bike. It is very secure but I would always recommend checking it every week or so. Because it is a universal fit there is always a possibility it will come loose from the fittings as it is effectively bolted onto the tubular rack. Bike specific racks are usually screwed into specific mounts under the plastic which is far more secure.
