Also, you won't be generating a lot of plastic bottles that are just going to end up in the environment creating more microplastic waste. I suppose the only downside is that we're no longer spending a lot of money to buy Pellegrino sparkling water. This means you cannot take it with you outdoors. On the plus side the regulation of the carbonation is excellent **Q: Is there a low CO2 warning light or a way to tell if you're almost out?** A: Soda Stream does not have an indicator for how much CO2 is in the cylinder. Soda Stream provides the following suggestions: 1. Make sure the cylinder is properly inserted in the cylinder holder, with the cylinder handle lowered. 2. Press the carbonating button and check if you see CO2 entering the bottle. 3. Press the button a few times and check for bubbles. 4. Listen for a sputtering sound when you press the button Well, that only tells you if you have some left or are completely out of CO2. So they suggest that you have a spare back up cylinder or two. Of course that way they sell more cylinders but if you have 3, it's cheaper on freight when you send them in to be recharged. I understand that they send out replacements as soon as they receive what you send to them so it's a fairly quick turn around. This product is great because it has preset bubble level options from light to extra :) typical soda seems to meet the second level but I love a bit more so the highest level is great. Many flavors to choose from and they satisfy even my pickiest family members with them stating they taste like the originals. Trash is reduced due to reusable bottles as well.
