Review: Best midrange smartwatch - I have had this watch for a few months at this point. I have used a ton of different cheaper watches, and the accompanying apps. This one by far is beyond the others. First the watch faces are customizable you can use a large variety of free ones, you can purchase more in the app or you can use the custom watch face builder to create your own. The tracking of everything works well. I don't use any of the paid services, but there is plenty of information available for someone who is mildly interested in tracking sleep quality, steps, exercise, water consumption, activity levels, etc. More importantly for me, it sends me notifications, answers calls, has voice assistant, and tracks all of the above. It stays charged for an entire workweek. I charge it on my day off when I am just relaxing, then I am good to wear it consistently for the next week. I have eyed the pixel watch on and off, but the darn higher end watches don't stay charged long enough. So if you are not looking for a doctor on your wrist that gives perfectly accurate data this is a good choice. It seems pretty accurate for what I use it for, and I don't base medical decisions off the data, other than maybe saying I don't think I am getting enough sleep sometimes. If the pixel watch eventually can match battery life might try that out someday, but until then this is the brand for me. Oh and unlike all the other cheaper ones, this app stays connected and reconnects when it is back in range, I never lose my sleep or steps data because I forgot to link the app at exactly 11:59 at night, or ever. The only time I don't get data is when I am not wearing the watch. ***update April 2025*** This watch is still working fantastically. I work in a commercial kitchen, I am sometimes elbow deep in a sink full of dishes or covered to my elbows in degreaser, oil, sanitizer, or food of some sort. When I am just prepping food I will usually pull my glove up over the watch, but otherwise it is exposed to the abuse of the elements in the kitchen. Most of the watches I have used before seem to fall apart after a few months in the kitchen. I think some of the chemicals we use dissolve the glue that holds the face to the body of the watch. This one still looks brand new. There is a warning somewhere in the instructions to not expose this to prolonged hot water, the thing is I can't stop what I am doing to take my watch off, so I had resigned myself to just purchasing new watches when the old one broke. And if this one eventually falls apart I will replace it with the newest model of the exact same watch. The app for this watch just works. It tries to sell me upgrades every couple weeks but they aren't necessary to keep track of steps or sleep or anything else really. It still connects automatically whenever in range of my phone, and I do not have to think about it at all. I can ignore the app for weeks at a time and still go back and look at the data whenever I want. And when I am feeling like I want something new I just switch out the band. It is so nice to be able to view my messages when I am elbow deep in a giant batch of bread. For me this watch takes the abuse that I never expected it to, I have given up on the more expensive brands... They are never going to compare especially when it comes to battery life. ***august 2025**** Last update because I think the point has been made. This watch is still working exactly as it should. I still wear it for four to six days without charging or removing, I charge it on my first day off work, then the only other time I remove it is when I get in the shower, then I jut put it right back on after I have toweled dry. I have come to expect this watch to always be there. It has become a tool that I use always. I use the weather app, check steps, sometimes check sleep, time and date, and notifications. I still don't even use this to it's full potential. There are so many other little things like the stress monitor, heart health, it has a built into the app nutritional info. It has a training template so you can track reps. There are sooo many widgets and measurements it is easily personalized for the individual. Fantastic smart watch.
Review: Great watch/fitness tracker combo for the price! - Have been putting this through some abuse now, and this is what I have to say: HR is in line with other monitors I’ve tried. Same with o2 sat. Sleep tracker can be glitchy for me being on an overnight schedule; it doesn’t like to recognize my normal sleep sessions and counts them as a nap. I guess that’s something to do with their algorithm and when you go to sleep past a certain time. For me, I’m more concerned with the overall amount of time I was asleep rather than all the other metrics. If it shows I had an 8-hour “nap” because I went to bed too late and I wake up feeling rested, it’s enough to see that sleep duration (I’m really bad about keeping track of when/what time I fall asleep) Was honestly shocked at how accurate the activity and resting calories burned trackers have been; they fall directly in line with how much weight I’ve been losing vs my caloric deficit through this cut. The few workout modes I use (strength training, indoor cycling, outdoor running) all seem to work well enough, and it’s interesting looking at the metrics sheets the watch and app come up with for the workouts. Is it 100% on point? Most likely not. Is it close enough to have an idea of how I’m pushing myself through my workouts? Absolutely It shows texts notifications, but not WhatsApp notifications. It doesn’t get the Do Not Disturb memo from my phone and lets texts through, unless going into the watch’s settings and turning on the watch’s Do Not Disturb. Swipe controls can feel a little sluggish, and water streams from a shower head can manipulate the screen. Slightly annoying, but nothing I can’t ignore/get past. GPS tracking has been accurate for runs through my suburban neighborhood, though haven’t tried it outside of this smallish area yet. As far as battery life and charge speed: both have been absolutely phenomenal (Recent run went from 100% to 39% over 6 days and took maybe 30-40 minutes to come up to 100%). Build quality on it is decent. Not the fanciest, but it definitely doesn’t feel like something cheap. Overall, for the $120 I spent on it, I was actually impressed. Was really just looking to snag a basic watch and fitness tracker combo, but this surpassed the expectations I had. Yeah, there are things that could be better with it, but for the price point, I’m happy with what it can do.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great watch, Steps Inaccurate
*by J***O on August 10, 2024*

Been wearing for 3 weeks so far. Pros -Beautiful watch. Very soft color, looks even lighter pink than the picture, almost like a soft grey/white in some light, which I love. -Battery life - hands down, fantastic. I’ve been getting 10 days use out of each charge, and couldn’t be happier. My two year old Fitbit had to be charged every 36 hours. -Screen is amazing - bright, sensitive to the touch, works very well. You can choose what background you like, even upload your favorite picture from your phone and make that your background, plus customize display appearance - top notch. Display brightness is adjustable so that it doesn’t glare at night or drain down battery as quickly if you prefer dimmer screen. -Many apps, I have little need for most of them. -Sleep tracker is a lot of fun - the app that links with the watch has great data and tips to get more quality rest. -Two of my favorite unexpected features are the easy-to-use timer which I find so helpful with my chores and with cooking and the night light. -Armband material is fantastic - soft, supple, comfortable to the touch, yet seems durable. Love how the loose end tucks into the band. Great design. Cons -Step accuracy. I did a side-by-side comparison with my Fitbit luxe (wore both the Amazfit and the Fitbit on the same arm for several hours) and the Amazfit only counts 67% of the steps that the Fitbit counts. I confirmed which tracker was the accurate one by watching the devices count as I took steps back and forth and indeed, the Fitbit counts steps that the Amazfit misses. Amazfit customer service was very responsive about the issue, made sure that I felt my concerns were heard, BUT made no promise to fix the problem in the immediate future. They instructed me to always make sure my arm swings when I walk to ensure all my steps are counted (this is impossible for me.) They also promised to take my comments into consideration. My comment to them was to design the watch to detect footfall, not just arm swing. -Fit - Amazfit instructs users to wear the watch snugly. I have always preferred to wear my watch more loosely, so I have struggled to get used to this, and find I’m constantly fidgeting with and adjusting the band for comfort.
