Review: Outstanding shoes. - I previously had a pair of these shoes that lasted 20 years! I wore them a lot as you can imagine but finally the sole wore through, the upper and surround still looked very good condition I mean like another 10 years easy but alas it was time to say good bye to what felt like the most comfortable shoes I’d ever had. I bought the original pair in a Clark’s high street store long before desertcart, I’d look when I was in a Clark’s store but never saw them again till low and behold they appeared here on desertcart. Snapped up this pair when a deal was on, awaited their arrival (uk10.5 got to love the half size) hoping that nothing had changed or they had become a shadow of the formers quality. But Ive got to say happily when they arrived they looked and felt as the old ones did. Even slipping my feet in to these brand new shoes felt like I was putting in the old set again. I can’t understate how finding good shoes that just fit and are comfortable out the box that don’t fall apart in a few years and slip on nice and easy, I had tried Barbour and Hush puppies before I found these and they just don’t cut it. Choice of colours and sizes are wide and varied suede/leather options abound but price wise that’s when you got to look and keep an eye on prices they are a bit up and down but with patience for £50-£65 (varies up to £120 for some) you can normally get a pair that suit. Can’t recommend these enough Ive now just bought the black suede to go with the gun smoke and will keep an eye for others. Suit lots of occasions, slip on and last for YEARS! But most of all for me personally comfortable.

Very well made, comfortable and hard wearing. The fact that they are so easy to put on is a bonus. The sizing was spot on for me.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are these breathable or water proof uppers?**
A: I have walked the school run in these which is 4 miles a day for three years now & I can confrim they are waterproof even in the depths of winter. My feet are always dry. Not sure why other are saying otherwise.

**Q: merrell men’s jungle moc mules - are these black nubuck leather as stated or brown nubuck as shown in the photo?**
A: The label on the box mine were delivered in clearly shows it to be item ref: J39817, which on looking up this code on the Merrell website shows it as BROWN polished leather (as opposed to suede) shoes.
However, the label shows the colour as BLACK SLATE!  The shoes inside were indeed brown.  Apparently, from talking to Merrell customer services, they do not make the black slate in polished leather.

As it happens, although I thought I was getting the black slate shoes, I quite like the brown and will keep them - in any case it is easier than sending them back.

However, this label is clearly a Merrell label, nothing to do with the reseller.

**Q: Are these wide fit**
A: Had these a year, love them. I have flat feet so wanted the raised arch mainly but with flat feet comes wide feet! and these have been great, comfy and lasted well. Use them round house mainly like slippers so dont know how they would fair as everyday use outside. The fit is good so would just order your normal shoe size.

**Q: Are these waterproof?**
A: Reasonably. I’ve worn them all day on wet days in the city and been fine. I wouldn’t walk through puddles or use them on trails or hikes in the wet as they’ll spoil eventually.

Versatile and comfortable. Easy to put on and fit good. Really slippery soles when went but ok in mud with the treads. Quality seems good. Style is orthopedic in this brown faux leather .. best get the suede / matt finish ones
