## Description

Death, betrayal, and.... hip hop! Mugen’s a buck wild warrior: violent, thoughtless and a womaniser. Jin is a vagrant ronin: mysterious, traditional, well-mannered and very strong. These two fiercely independent warriors couldn’t be more different from one another, yet their paths cross when Fuu, a ditzy waitress, saves them from being executed when they are arrested after a violent swordfight. Fuu convinces the two vagrant young men to help her find a mysterious samurai “who smells of sunflowers.” And their journey begins. This outstanding animation is directed by Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Animatrix), designed by Kazuto Nakazawa (Kill Bill Vol. 1) and Mahiro Maeda (Last Exile) and powered by fresh sounds from Tsutchie, Fat Jon, Nujabes and Force of Nature!

Review: thought space cowboys where a good mix? - well Shinichirō Watanabe does it again in this beauty yet fresh anime. samurai champloo follows a story of young teenage girl called Fuu trying to find "the samuria who smells of sunflowers", a journey that will take her and friends across Japan during its Edo period In company is rude b-boy fighting style Mugen and frosty ronin Jin who make a shaky alliance with Fuu at the start that comes into turmoil during the later parts of the series, due to all three very different yet very interesting personalities and back stories, you don't get a typical sense from other generic animes that they WANT/HAVE to work with each other but rather they are FORCED to work with one and other Mugen and Jin make it clear that they will either abandon Fuu or take out each other when they get the chance Set in rural Japan during the Edo era this show is give a new flow to it, by adding hip-hop, and it works pretty well just as Watanabe added the wild west taste to space in Cowboy Bebop the hip-hip vibe and urban taste goes well with the settings in this anime, as you can first tell with mugens fight style of having break dancing moves to even the incredible sound track that sounds really amazing, you can tell its not just tacked on but that Watanabe perfectly synced the two opposites together. You will find great detail in quality as well no episode is short from beautiful, theres only one filler episode and the voice acting is great as well, and throughout 95 percent of the show is humor, literally coming from everyone but still to say with this is still ultra violence and does have a more serious tone near the end just as shown in Watanabes other works All in all if you like your anime, your afro samurai, your ninja scroll heck if you like hip-hop give this fresh amine a buy its amazing and besides the lack of extra content on the boxset the item is amazing, go buy it now!
Review: Wonderful art, stunning sound track and fun characters - Well I must say that I enjoyed this anime series very much. I first came across it 7 years ago when living in the states and I immediately recognised the artistic style and story setup as that of Cowboy Beebop, which simply put, is my favourite series of all time. Whilst not in the same league as Cowboy Beebop in terms of characters and story, there were several high points full of such majesty and beauty that took my breath away. One episode in particular called Misguided Miscreatans pt.2 has a haunting classical Japanese soundtrack that elevates that episode into something of a master piece. And yes, the entire sound track is truly wonderful. Much of the music was created by The late Japanese producer Nujabes and it is really worth seeking him out. You will not be disappointed. The songs range from sweet hip hop to soulful beats and it really shows that so much love was heaped upon this project. There's no down side to buying this collection, it's reasonably priced on desertcart, the art work is truly stunning and the characters are entertaining if not as deeply involving as Spike and co. (in Beebop). But it's the music that won me over and for that I will add to the five star reviews.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best anime ever made, in a fantastic package
*by C***T on 28 November 2021*

You simply can't go wrong with this set!! I wasn't expecting much from the "standard definition remaster" side of things, but as someone who has seen this series on multiple platforms I can definitely say this is the cleanest I've ever seen the show. Everything you would hope for in a blu-ray package is here (great audio, picture, quick loading, lots of disc space for episodes etc). The show itself is a work of art. Everything from the soundtrack to the script is absolutely perfect. The stories are deep and complex, without ever being confusing. Some stories will make you laugh, others will make you cry. It's a masterpiece.
