Flattening and smoothing rather than grinding and cutting off burrs the tool maintains the integrity of the material and produces the right shape for subsequent joining. Review: Excellent - Looks very similar to the Rothenberger pipe cleaner, but for less money. Have only used on new copper pipe and it did a great job cleaning the ends of the pipe, much faster and cleaner to use than wire wool, just wipe the end of the pipe after use, apply flux and solder for a leak free joint. Although not essential to use one of these it just makes the job easier and quicker, Highly recommend.

Looks very similar to the Rothenberger pipe cleaner, but for less money. Have only used on new copper pipe and it did a great job cleaning the ends of the pipe, much faster and cleaner to use than wire wool, just wipe the end of the pipe after use, apply flux and solder for a leak free joint. Although not essential to use one of these it just makes the job easier and quicker, Highly recommend.

Cleans the pipe ok but it advertizes that it also deburrs. It doesn't deburr. Also doesn't look like it will clean pipe for very long.
