Review: Review of the remote - This was a great product. It is very sturdy and functional and high quality. I am glad I purchased this item. Thank you for your excellent service and great product.
Review: Great concept, awful execution. Be prepared to solder if you want it to last. - I bought this remote specifically for the QWERTY keyboard on the back to make searching on my Android TV easier, but it has turned out to be a massive disappointment. Between a hardware failure right outside the return window and an infuriatingly laggy keyboard, I cannot recommend it unless you are looking for a DIY electronics project. The Keyboard Is Effectively Useless Let's start with the main selling feature: the keyboard. It is practically non-functional for normal typing. The remote drops into a deep sleep state incredibly fast. When you start typing, it completely misses the first keypress because it's busy "waking up," meaning it only picks up the second letter in a string. To make matters worse, it cannot process more than about three keystrokes per second. Typing anything becomes an infuriating game of timing: you have to hit the next key fast enough before the remote falls back asleep, but slow enough that the hardware actually registers the input. It's maddening. Dead Right After the 30-Day Return Window Like clockwork, shortly after desertcart's 30-day return window closed, the remote completely flatlined. It worked perfectly fine while plugged into a USB cable, but the absolute second you unplugged it, it would die within moments. The internal battery completely refused to hold a charge. Because getting support from a generic manufacturer is a ghost town, I decided to open it up and see if it could be saved. The Repair Journey (And Cheap Components) If you are handy with a soldering iron, you can fix this, but the internal build quality makes it a massive headache: The Culprit: The original battery was a tiny, cheap 3.7V 300mAh pouch cell (size 502525) that had completely flatlined. The Repair Cost: It cost me about $7 for a replacement lithium-polymer battery cell, plus the cost of soldering supplies and my own time. Cheapskate Manufacturing: Be warned if you try to desolder the old battery. The factory build quality is so poor that the negative copper pad completely lifted right off the circuit board with almost zero effort, leaving bare fiberglass. I had to scrape around and trace an alternate ground connection to a tiny test pad labeled GND just to make the remote functional again. The Silver Lining: On the bright side, there is enough physical clearance inside the shell if you rotate the battery horizontally, so I was able to upgrade it to a slightly longer 450mAh cell (size 502535) for a 50% battery life boost. Final Verdict Now that it's rebuilt with a quality battery and a custom ground wire, it works and powers on. But a regular consumer shouldn't have to crack open a brand-new device, troubleshoot lifted PCB traces, and solder in third-party parts just to get it to work past month two. Pass on this one.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ There is an IR blaster!
*by A***. on June 22, 2025*

Remote and all functions work great. I got this because it had IR and a 2.4 receiver. I saw several reviews that said this does not have an IR blaster but that is not the case. I am not sure what voodoo magic the manufacture did to obscure the IR but it is there. I was able to connect this to a machine running batocera and learn the codes to power on my TV and turn my sound bar up and down. I will say that the "ok" button does not do anything in batocera but that's seems to be an issue with that operating system and not the remote. I included a picture of the IR blaster in the remote for anyone questioning if there is one.
