Flowers and foliage are quickly pressed between two cotton liners, two thick wool pads and two vented platens, all of which are held together by 4 clips. Pressing is done in very short intervals spaced with short resting periods. Flowers can be used the same day and color retention is exceptional, compared with traditional pressing methods. The pressed flowers can then be used for greeting cards, scrapbooking, wedding and other invitations, menus, bookmarks or applied to candles and soap, art and decoupage projects. It is the ultimate flower press and is commonly used by oshibana and other artists, as well as by botanists. The liners are washable and the pads will last for hundreds of cycles.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: ?is it possible to press a thick flower like rananculus? do i have to change the pad after each use ? also is the plastic toxic if put in microwave**
A: I really like the Microfleur. As a little background information, both of my grandchildren had to do wildflower projects for school. For our grandson, he did not use the Microfleur but after pressing his 25 wildflowers, he suggested we get one for his sister when it was her time to do the wildflower project. I bought two of these, actually 3 because I also bought the 5" Microfleur, and we were able to dry about 8 to 10 flowers in less than 30 to 45 minutes. I am sure you can press any thick flower. One of the wildflowers we pressed for the school project was a bull thistle; however, prior to pressing, we did run over the flower part with the car about 3 times to flatten it somewhat because a bull thistle is thick, tough and full of liquid. I would not recommend that for a flower like the rananculus, but I do recommend paying attention to how you place it between the cotton sheets prior to placing the wool pad and closing the Microfleur. No, you do not have to change the pad after each use. The thick pad is wool and absorbs the moisture from the flower. There is a cotton sheet that goes between the two wool pads with the flower in between the two cotton layers. I did buy extra pads and cotton layers, but did not have to use the extra pads for the school project we were working on but I did use some of the extra cotton sheets because we had a couple of flowers that had a lot of moisture in them and bled onto the cotton layers. A spiderwort bleeds purple. You can wash the cotton sheets if you want to. The plastic is not toxic. I recommend strongly following all directions that come with the Microfleur and adjust the amount of time (seconds) the Microfleur needs for your personal microwave. I would suggest doing some test runs with some wildflowers, etc. to see how much time you need for the drying process. Smaller and thinner flowers take less time and if heated too much will possibly burn if you are not careful.

**Q: Does it come with paper?**
A: It doesn't come with paper. It comes with a very thick cloth which absorbs the expelled moisture from the flowers. It is gentle and the flowers come out very nice. I was actually just looking at some flowers I pressed 2 years ago and they still look great. If you don't want to do the microwaved pressing and you just want to do regular wax-paper pressing, don't buy this product. But I have done both types and I recommend this product!

**Q: Going out of the area to a wedding; can you use this for a few days to 'store' the (wedding) flowers; then microwave it when you get home?**
A: Absolutely no. Your flowers will be ruined. Store the flowers in a bag with maybe a damp paper towel. Don't know exactly what flowers you are storing. You might need a big bag. If you need a large bag, you might even try like a turkey cooking bag to store them in the refrig. without smashing them. Do not cook them in the bag, for storage only in the cooler or refrig. whatever you are using until you get home. I am assuming that you have not used the microfleur before. You might want to experiment with your yard flowers. Sometimes the flowers change color when microwaved or don't microwave well. Sometimes they are too thick and you have to cut them or do petals and put them back together. Good luck.

**Q: If you don’t have a microwave could you use an oven?**
A: No no no! Never put plastic in an oven. It could release chemicals into the air. I have used both methods and found that the old boards with paper between is best. Just have to be patient and let it dry naturally.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A quick way to press flowers
*by D***6 on 25 April 2022*

I have used this several times now to dry flowers which I use in resin and has worked brilliantly. It takes a bit of time to get use to the timings depending on the flowers, but I have found this is a great addition to my resin making for using fresh flowers.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Preservation of vibrant colour
*by L***K on 29 October 2020*

Excellent product. The best way to preserve the colour of flowers. It's not cheap but considering the results it's worth every penny!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good and easy to use
*by P***A on 23 April 2021*

Easy to use, with easy to follow instruction. Little bit expansive, but worth the money if you want to press flowers quite often.
