Decided to try replacing the element myself and glad I did simple, quick and cheap repair. The price of these elements seems to vary wildly and this was one of the cheapest I found, it was a perfect match for my old one and worked straight away without issue. Not sure what you are paying for extra with more expensive versions, I guess I'll just have to see how long it lasts but has been working well for a couple of months now. Fitting is straightforward and whilst it will vary between ovens the steps should be very similar and all you need is a Phillips screwdriver and maybe a pair of pliers. 1) Turn of the power to the oven 2) Open open and remove the screws holding the metal plate that covers your cooker fan. 3) Remove the metal plate, behind this will be the fan and the element surrounding it. 4) Remove 3 screws holding the old element in place and carefully pull it towards you 5) Disconnect the wires from the old element noting where each goes, there should be a Live, Negative and Earth. The connectors can be quite stiff and you might need to use the pliers to ease them off. 6) Reverse the above steps with your new element. Hopefully you now have a nice hot oven again. Firstly, the heating element fits perfectly in my oven, which was a huge relief. It was a seamless installation and it works just as expected. I am thrilled to have my oven back up and running like new again! After our electrics tripped I found the fault was the oven, I was busy looking for a new one before my Father suggested it was the element, I looked on the official site for my model and it was roughly 7 times the cost of this. So for the price it was worth a gamble without breaking the bank. Overall, I am very satisfied with the purchase. So far it is reliable, affordable, and does exactly what it's supposed to do.
