The instructions on the back of the bottle say never to use it on silk, acetate (which it did mess up for me), and leather, carpeting or upholstery. Of course, oxyclean is the same way for silk. To me, dry cleaning, thelaundress online, or handwashing with Ivory Snow or Fels Naptha (which still may rinse off the sizing coating) is about the best for silk.
