As always Pocketbook allows you to customise the device to suit your individual taste and reading style, down to being able to customise the wake up and sleep screen, and set a schedule for the comfort and front light for each hour of the day, allowing you to set curves as the comfort comes on - or in any configuration that suits you. The design of the eReader is sublime, stylish and contemporary – the built in buttons can be mapped to various functions, making it a versatile device. If this device has any cons, it’s the fact that it cannot be password protected. This is a small issue that can be fixed by firmware updates – and given how new the Inkpad 4, it’s possible it's on the future roadmap for the device. All in all, this is hands down a better eReader than that produced by desertcart – more open sourced, able to handle multiple formats (including desertcart’s own azw).
