It is very thick and quite heavy and can withstand microwave and dishwashing, maybe even oven proof (haven't tried though).People may think that it is a bit pricy for one plate but believe me it's well worth it.It is an excellent plate if you are following the slimming world diet or even just portion controlling. I will be using this for every meal and will probably buy more. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Brilliant plate for healthy dieting. *by M***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 December 2016* This is the only plate I could find with a specific compartment for the recommended one third of a meal consisting of veg/fruit. So there is a visual reinforcement and if that section is full you feel good and if it is empty you are disappointed with yourself . There is a lot of evidence which my own dietician emphasised that just sticking to that one third rule makes for healthy eating as well is for slimming. It is really good that you can use it to microwave food in order to cook or re heat , knowing in advance that you are still sticking to the plan. The plate is substantial and although it doesn't say it is ovenproof I would imagine you can put it in the oven as well. It is a solid plate with attractive images and captions which again reinforce the positive basics about healthy eating.The fact that it is so solid somehow makes it more of an occasion when you have your meal and reinforces your motivation .
