Review: Works as expected. - I'm happy that this kit came with the cover cap as well. Although the stock cap came off without breakage. I found this to be the cause of the warning light on the dash, along with the whistling sound. You can check if this is the problem while releasing crankcase pressure by pulling the oil stick or oil filler cap, and the whistle goes away. Sure enough, the diaphragm was torn. This is a common problem on the Volvo 5 cylinder when approaching 130K. Look for the roughly 2.5" diameter black cap sitting right behind the oil filler cap. Plenty of YouTube videos showing how to change it out. Hope this helps.
Review: Perfect replacement for a Volvo S60 - Seems to work perfectly in my 2012 Volvo S60. Seems more robust than the original being replaced. I don't know how long it will last, but it seems at least as good as the original. I was able to reuse the original cap so I can't speak to how that fits. I was hesitant to make the repair given how old the plastic is on the PCV housing, but it seems to have worked fine. After reviewing various procedures online, I followed one set of instructions that allowed me to make the fix in about 10 minutes. First drive the car about 15 minutes to warm the engine. Make a mark of some kind across the seam between the cap and housing so you can line up the cap exactly the same when replacing. Wear thin gloves that can protect from hot surfaces. Use a chisel to get into the seam between the cap and housing. I popped the cap of in about 10 seconds, then maybe another 10 to pull it completely off with my hand. Put the diaphragm into the cap like the old one being replaced and attach the spring. Place the cap/diaphragm/spring assembly in place, lining up the mark you made exactly. Use something like a flathead screwdriver or a small piece of wood to push down on the cap all around the edges. The cap needs to be lined up exactly since there are slots that correspond. I used a piece of 1x2 that was about 8 inches long to get leverage on the cap.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Diaphragm worked but I could not get the new cap to snap on.
*by D***N on November 4, 2025*

Item fit my 2015 Volvo 2.5 liter turbo 5 cylinder engine. I could not however get the new cap to snap on to my old oil separator assembly. But I did get the new diaphragm to work with my old cap, although getting it back on was pretty hard. As you can see it in the picture I had to use a long board pry up against the intake manifold and push it down. Hope this helps others.
