When it’s still, it goes into sleep mode to save battery time. 3 hours must be incorrect. I use it all day several times a week. **Q: Does it clip on the waist?** A: Yes, metal clip to waist band. Very sturdy. **Q: Is this product made in China** A: It says that it is “Assembled in Taiwan.” **Q: Does the accusplit have a miles walked function?** A: I do not believe it does. The one I had years ago did count steps, miles, calories burned. I was disappointed when I found it did not have these gauges. If you find one that does all of this please let me know.
