Wow, this unit is much faster scanning than the 6170. It came with a DVD with drivers and software, however, my computer doesn’t have a DVD reader. I downloaded the software easily from the website installed the software and the 8170 worked like a charm with no issues. Only been using for a week, but I was so excited that it worked as it should immediately. Color scans, duplex, multiple pages, multiple file formats to scan to. The higher the resolution the lower it will scan, but I normally scan at 300 DPI and it is fast. Will be purchasing another for our other pc.
