However, it was nearly impossible to thread a 1/4" MPT fitting into the female side. Most fittings (I tried several different types) will grab only about half a thread - if that - even without Teflon tape. I finally found a 90 degree fitting that threaded in a few threads and was able to use the valve with that between the valve and the next component, but for many applications it will simply not work.
