## Description

The HyperX Cloud III Wireless is a new chapter in the legend of the Cloud II. This wireless evolution builds upon the soul of the Cloud II Wireless while incorporating new tech and a bold new look. Comfort is king and the Cloud III’s fit for royalty, delivering luxurious comfort for all-day gaming or marathon streams. You’ll get a huge amount of battery life, up to 120 hours*, for uninterrupted gaming joy. It also features re-tuned 53mm angled drivers and a lifetime activation of DTS® Headphone:X® Spatial Audio** for premium quality audio and sound localization. Fast, reliable 2.4GHz connectivity allows you to get rid of the cables, but not important audio. The upgraded 10mm microphone will enable crystal-clear communication when you’re calling out orders to your squad, chatting with friends, or taking calls. Simple audio controls on the headset earcup allow you to have quick, direct access to mute your mic or adjust audio volume. Compatible with PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and mobile, it’s the ideal wireless headset for comfortable gaming audio however you play.

Review: Best HyperX Cloud Yet - I think that they finally made the perfect gaming headset. They have always been the best in class regarding sound quality at this price point. The multiple iterations of the Cloud have largely been the company slowly addressing points of failure and upgrading things like its connectivity and surround-sound software. In the original Clouds, the hinge that attached the earcup to the headphone band was external and held in place by a cheap plastic piece that eventually just cracked over time regardless of how careful you were. This was the most common point of failure, so they changed it. The Cloud 2 had the first internal hinge on the earcup and it solved the problem perfectly. Unfortunately, it merely moved the common failure point up the headband to the cheap plastic cuff that they used to secure the metal forks to the rest of the headband. In the Cloud 2, this plastic cuff would eventually break even with very careful treatment due to the torque that is placed on it so that the earcups conform to people's heads. In the Cloud 3, they finally got it right: Internal cup hinges with a metal cuff to attach the ear forks. Perfect. I keep examining these for the next probable point of failure and I really can't think of any. So, now you can get some of the best sound in the industry in a tank-like package that should last ages. They finally ditched the foam pop filter, which I never had a problem with but might degrade over time. The new mic is still decent but probably not the best sound quality in comparison to some competitors. Probably one of the coolest things that I did not expect was that the receiver dongle comes with an extension that allows for either USB-C or USB connectivity. If I were to wager, this is the most likely point of failure if you use this with a laptop or are taking the dongle out frequently because it is a little delicate and long with the USB-A attachment on. It is a really cool feature that expands the headset's compatibility with recently released laptops with only USB-C ports.
Review: HyperX has some very intelligent designers and engineers. This is almost perfect for the price. - + Comfortable + Well built + Sound quality, out of the box EQ is pretty flat. It perfectly cuts the harsh/piercing treble range, which can quickly cause listener fatigue. For my ears, it’s darn near perfect and not at all fatiguing for long sessions. They chose an inoffensive, warm sound profile that should sound good with anything you throw at it. Games, music or movies. Although, this is very subjective. If you love bass, you’ll want to EQ it. + Imaging is very good. Soundstage is above average. Angled drivers should be on every gaming headset. I have no trouble at all pinpointing exact locations in FPS. + Mic quality is very good. (Required a setting change in Windows for best performance). + Mic Monitoring on this headset is the best I've ever heard, very natural sounding with little delay. + Battery life could literally last you over a month. + USB 2.4ghz transmitter gives you the choice of USB-C or USB-A via an adapter. + Wireless range is extremely wide, bathroom trips are not an issue. + Easy to clean. + Easily get an accurate battery percentage. Tap the power button and a voice will tell you. + Ngenuity Software is very well polished and is downloaded via the Microsoft Store. + I hate background software, thankfully Ngenuity is not required. Although you should update firmware. There are some negatives; - Headset gets warm, I'm ok with this, some might not be. I prefer a headset that is easy to clean over one with cloth earpads that stays cool. - No Bluetooth. - In Windows 10/11, the Mic defaults to 16000hz. Change it to 32000hz in your Microphone Properties/Advanced tab. You’ll notice a huge increase in quality. This mic is actually very good, but if you hear people saying it sucks, it’s because the default setting handicaps the quality. - They use DTS X instead of Dolby Atmos for their spatial sound. It's not great, just use Windows Sonic. - DTS X driver is required for you to be able to EQ the headset. And as far as I can tell, EQ settings are not saved, the software must be running. PlayStation users be aware. (Although the stock EQ is damn near perfect to me). - No Xbox Compatibility. This is the first headset I've used where the negatives have no affect on my experience. Which is why I believe it is the best sub $200 PC gaming headset available. I have no idea how it would work with Playstation, but I'd guess it is also pretty damn good there as well. I will be using this for years to come.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Comfortable and useful
*by X***A on December 7, 2025*

I used the Cloud 2 for a long time and now after switching to the Cloud 3 Wireless it honestly feels like they just fixed everything that bothered me before. Comfort is the first thing you notice, the ear pads are softer, it doesn’t squeeze your head, and I can keep it on for hours without feeling tired. The sound is cleaner too, footsteps and small details in games are easier to pick out and the bass is strong without turning muddy like the Cloud 2 sometimes did. The mic is clearer, my friends on Discord noticed right away. Battery life is great, I only charge it every couple of days and the wireless connection never dropped or lagged for me. Build quality feels solid with the metal frame and the headset doesn’t feel cheap at all. Only small downside is the dongle being a bit big, and switching devices isn’t super smooth. The mic still isn’t studio level but it’s completely fine for gaming. Overall, coming from the Cloud 2, this feels like a straight upgrade in comfort, sound and battery. It’s just a really good headset to use every day.
