You're paying a high premium for the Matias Quiet Click ALPS key-switches, but these key-switches do what no Cherry MX switch can: they manage to be both very quiet and very tactile at the same time.Not only is the Matias Quiet Pro much quieter than the Cherry MX Brown keyboard that I was using, it's even quieter than the Logitech K350 and K120 that I own, two regular rubber dome keyboards. Seriously. Mechanical keyboards are usually MUCH louder than rubber dome keyboards. The fact that a mechanical keyboard is quieter than my rubber dome keyboards is something that I believed to be unthinkable before I discovered Matias. Bringing my MX Brown keyboard to work would give me pause. I'd have no such concern bringing the Quiet Pro to work.It doesn't sacrifice tactility to accomplish its quietness either. From my experience, Matias Quiet Click switches are noticeably more tactile than MX Browns and arguably more tactile than MX Blues, a very impressive feat given how quiet it is.The Quiet Pro also has some appreciated extras such as three USB 2.0 ports, dedicated volume controls, a Tab key on the number pad for easier navigation of spreadsheets, and laser-etched ABS keycaps that ensure that the lettering won't deteriorate any time soon.This keyboard isn't perfect though. A $150 mechanical keyboard should either have high quality PBT keycaps or LED backlighting to illuminate the keyboard in dark environments. Preferably, it would have both. This keyboard has neither. This is even more disappointing when you discover that unlike older ALPS switches, these Matias switches actually support back-lighting. My MX Brown keyboard has great LED back-lighting and it costed over $50 less than the Quiet Pro. I don't care for the glossy black finish on the keyboard either. This is easily the glossiest computer peripheral that I've ever seen, so fingerprints will always be very noticeable on the keyboard. I also wish the USB ports were USB 3.0 rather than USB 2.0. Still, these minor issues can be easily overlooked due to how refined and unique these Matias key-switches are and how high quality the overall board is.Don't let the ubiquity of Cherry MX mechanical keyboards turn you away from worthy alternatives. The Matias Quiet Pro earns its high price tag, as you'd be hard pressed to find a mechanical keyboard that's similarly as quiet and as satisfying to type on. If you love mechanical keyboards but are turned off by the noise they make, I think you'll be very impressed with this keyboard. Just keep a cleaning cloth close by for those fingerprints. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Matias general review/matias quiet pro keyboard *2019 update* *by N***. on Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2019* I ordered this keyboard after some research online. I came to the conclusion that this was quieter than cherry red switches which I'm greatly appreciative of. The custom switches feel responsive and it's a generally solid keyboard. I might prefer it to be a little wider, but it suits me well. I ran into an issue after just 6 or 7 months where the w and space bar key became unresponsive. I talked with customer support, and they offered a few solutions to fix the issue. Because my attempt at troubleshooting was unsuccessful, I kind of gave up on it for a while. After about 10 months, I tried again to plead with customer support to see if we could do anything. They decided to do a warranty replacement [free] and shipped me a new keyboard after verifying my full price purchase.Most companies nowadays don't stand behind their products like this, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that Matias is an exception to this rule.
