Review: Do not purchase - I purchased this to play back blu ray and this software does not support bluray playback. Only the Ultra version of the software does that. The product description nor the company's website do not point this out at all. I was mad enough to spit nails when I found out that it doesn't support blu ray. This is the reason people pirate software. I dropped $50 for nothing. Bloated install with uncustomizable interface and installation options. Review: Save Your Money - Add this to a computer with windows 7 Pro could not get it to work. It kept insisting that video was not able to handle movie, however microsofts play included with 7 work just fine. Ive used this in the past with very happy results but this sours my experience. ## Features - Windows 8 compatible - ENHANCED EXPERIENCE: Media Quality & Player Experience. As always, Amazon delivered it promptly, but after loading it and a quick tour, I wish I hadn't bought it. I have used PowerDVD for years so, it is like a quirky ill-tempered friend. I was upgrading from OEM version 9 and really looking forward to just a good updated DVD player that could handle Blueray and 5.1 sound. It seems to work OK, but like so much software these days, it has turned into bloatware. Loaded with features designed to emulate windows media player, download movies for money, upload to phones, connect to internet and.... The player itself has become less functional. the scroll wheel which used to fast forward at increasing speeds as you scroll up (and reverse scroll down - NICE) now skips ahead DVD chapters (at a fantastic rate) or onto the next movie on your hard drive. What a usefull feature - Rapid fire movies.... so be carefull with your mouse, or the Lion King might suddenly be replaced by something you don't want the kids watching.... --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.at/products/5549013-cyberlink-powerdvd-12-standard](https://www.desertcart.at/products/5549013-cyberlink-powerdvd-12-standard) --- *Product available on Desertcart Austria* *Store origin: AT* *Last updated: 2026-10-10*
