Is that right??** A: Not quite. It lasts for a long time. It comes with a gauge. When the gauge fits over the filter then it needs replacing. I’ve had mine for 10 years and it is still going strong. The filter gets blocked if you filter really dirty water and you need to scrub it with a rough cloth. Each time you do this you make the filter thinner. When it gets too thin it needs replacing. If you filter relatively clear water then it won’t block. That makes it last longer.
