It's a pretty good thermometer, I've had it a while and use it for chemistry applications so it gets exposed to extreme pH ranges and temperature. The thermistor wire has only just now worn out, which happens with all thermistors; nothing wrong with the meter though, great quality for such a low price. **Q: Do you sell other probes (specifically n-type) that are compatible with this device? I am unable to find other types of probes for this device.** A: K type plug only **Q: I'm annealing brass, how fast does this read temperature? Response time?** A: It is virtually instant. The mass of the tip of the thermocouple is so small that it responds to changes in heat very quickly. **Q: When recording maximum temperature what is the sample rate? How many times does it sample per second?** A: I'm not sure about maximum temperature, but when I used it to check the AC air outlet from the ceiling diffuser after cleaning the coil, the display screen went from 84F down to 62F in a jiffy. I'm sure you will like it. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐ Not very accurate *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 16 July 2021* Primarily I wanted to use this for monitoring a freezer. It didn't seem to give me the readings I was expecting so I did an ice point measurement. One thermocouple gave an error of about 4C and the other about 1.5C (regardless of channel). I am guessing this is mostly thermocouple error and I hope to obtain another shortly to use as a reference point. In short, you seem to get what you pay for. Like a lot of others, trying to set the display to stay on isn't as per instructions which are poor, not that this is too important for my application. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good value for the cost to monitor temperature *by on Reviewed in Canada 2 June 2020* I bought this to troubleshoot and monitor the temperature of a home oven. Bought separately a thermocouple rated at 500 C. The combination will do the job. For the price the meter is good quality and works well. There are models more suited for everyday industrial applications but they cost ten times as much. I'm happy with the purchase for home handyman use. I'm sure it'll get a lot of use troubleshooting friend and relative's appliances too. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Essential Tool for HVAC/R Professionals *by on Reviewed in the United States 15 October 2023* As an HVAC/R professional, accuracy is critical at every step of the job. Compared to other options on the market, it's a cost-effective choice for professionals who need precise measurements without breaking the bank. However, one improvement I would like to suggest for this instrument is the ability to calibrate it. Since accuracy is crucial in our line of work, having the capability to calibrate the thermometer would be a significant benefit. It would ensure that the readings are always precise, which is essential for the success of any HVAC/R job.Additionally, the sturdy construction and user-friendly design of this thermometer are noteworthy. It fits comfortably in the hand, has an easy-to-read display, and the battery lasts a long time.In summary, the Kamtop Dual Channel Digital Thermometer with Two K-Type Probes is a valuable addition for HVAC/R professionals.
