There are very slight imperfections on the glaze on the sides, I mean small dots, but that is expected in hand dipped pottery if you have every made it. They are not noticeable really or distract from the plate. I ordered the cappuccino which is true to color. No breaks in delivery as they are packed outstandingly. You would have to do serious tossing with the box to break the plates. I looked long and hard for plates and if you are considering these, hit buy.
