**Q: Does this have the vernier scale?**
A: These mics read only to the .001 (1 thousandth), not to .0001 (tenths).

**Q: Is this Japan or Brazil?**
A: Japan

**Q: How can this tool be said to have .0001" accuracy when the resolution is only 3 decimals?**
A: Scaling on the thimble will only let you read to the .001.  This mic will not read in "tenth's".  Mitutoyo precision mics/calipers are very good, I have used them for almost 50 years.

**Q: What color enamel paint?**
A: As shown in the picture. A hammered black and teal of some sort.
