Review: Great for Steam Deck + Portable Monitor - I have this hooked up to my Steam Deck, with a mouse, keyboard, and portable monitor. With the correct cables and strong enough power supply it works perfectly and connects to my 1440p portable monitor while charging the device at the same time. I also have this hooked up to my laptop with the same peripherals and haven't noticed any issues (unlike some Dell docks that constantly disconnect.) My only issue is it has 3 USB A ports, I would have preferred an extra non DP alt mode USB C port but it is what it is. Overall, very much worth it. Great value in comparison to the official Steam Deck Dock if you are looking for something that is more portable and cheaper than equivalents (something like a Thunderbolt 4 dock/hub) Review: Does the job but take care with cable choice. - Having got an ASUS MB16ACV (a USB C portable monitor) I had the problem that I couldn't use it with my Samsung Tab S7 plus as it wasn't providing the power. Adapters that pass through alt DP over USB C and have a power input seem very rare, this device looked like the perfect answer but initially it didn't work. I had an Anker USB C cable that worked from the laptop to my screen but nothing from this device, so initially assumed problem with the adapter, however I saw that it said 10Gpbs on the video output port of the adapter so wondered if it was fussy about the cable, even though it doesn't need that fast. I bought a 10Gbps cable (https://www.desertcart.co.uk/dp/B09J9BXFFD?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title) and it works perfectly. So if you are struggling to get it to work, consider a newer cable before giving up. It also works with my Xperia 1 VI, although currently screen output is vertical (hopefully just need to find right config). It's a bit expensive but if you are trying to solve the same problem as me, it does the job. ## Features - 4-PORT USB-C HUB: USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) expansion hub with built-in USB-C host cable; 3x USB-A, 1x USB-C (Alt Mode DisplayPort 1.4 + 10Gbps data), 1x USB-C PD Pass-Through; Overcurrent Protection (OCP) & Wake on USB; Easy driverless setup - USB-C VIDEO OUTPUT: USB-C port (video + data) supports video out to a 4K 60Hz portable or desktop USB-C monitor; NOTES: Computer must support USB-C DP Alt Mode; Power adapter must be connected to PD Pass-Through port to power a USB-C monitor - RELIABLE PERFORMANCE: Connect an external USB-C power adapter for 100W Power Delivery 3.0 pass through; 18W is reserved for the adapter to avoid video flickering, device dropouts or power overdraw that's common in other hubs; Up to 82W for laptop charging - EXTRA-LONG CABLE: Attached 1ft/30cm cable with TPE jacket provides long reach for easy setup and prevents adapter from dangling on the host connector; Ideal cable length to reduce port strain on 2-in-1 convertible laptops, or host laptops on riser stands - OUR ADVANTAGE: Included connectivity tools for IT Pros and IT help-desk support teams; Features USB Event Monitoring that logs and timestamps USB port usage enabling admins to identify potentially malicious devices; Features Windows Layout Utility ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0CJCL2K8R | | Best Sellers Rank | 56,684 in Computers & Accessories ( See Top 100 in Computers & Accessories ) 825 in USB Hubs | | Box Contents | 1 x user manual (English language not guaranteed) | | Brand | StarTech | | Brand Name | StarTech | | Colour | Space Gray | | Compatible Devices | standard | | Compatible devices | standard | | Country of Origin | China | | Customer Reviews | 4.0 out of 5 stars 122 Reviews | | Data Transfer Rate | 10 Gigabits Per Second | | Enclosure Material | Metal | | Hardware Interface | USB Type C | | Hardware interface | USB Type C | | Item Dimensions L x W x H | 9.9L x 5.3W x 1.5H centimetres | | Item Highlight | 4K 60Hz USB-C video out, Attached 1ft 30cm TPE cable, USB event monitoring for IT admins | | Item Weight | 100 g | | Manufacturer | StarTech.com | | Manufacturer Part Number | HB31C3A1CDPPD3 | | Model Number | HB31C3A1CDPPD3 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Number of Ports | 4 | | Operating System | Multi-piattaforma | | Product Features | Portable | | Product Warranty | 2-Year | | Special feature | Portable | | Total USB Ports | 4 | | Total USB ports | 4 | | UPC | 065030893022 | | Unit Count | 1.0 count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** StarTech - **Colour:** Space Gray - **Compatible devices:** standard - **Hardware interface:** USB Type C - **Special feature:** Portable ## Images ![StarTech 4-Port USB-C Hub, 10Gbps, DP Alt Mode 4K 60Hz, 100W PD, Driverless - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61AN4JOo70L.jpg) ![StarTech 4-Port USB-C Hub, 10Gbps, DP Alt Mode 4K 60Hz, 100W PD, Driverless - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/518e1lLaMcL.jpg) ![StarTech 4-Port USB-C Hub, 10Gbps, DP Alt Mode 4K 60Hz, 100W PD, Driverless - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71XMd+oM7FL.jpg) ![StarTech 4-Port USB-C Hub, 10Gbps, DP Alt Mode 4K 60Hz, 100W PD, Driverless - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71bqQgnDmLL.jpg) ![StarTech 4-Port USB-C Hub, 10Gbps, DP Alt Mode 4K 60Hz, 100W PD, Driverless - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71vkd-lIy8L.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for Steam Deck + Portable Monitor *by A***R on 22 December 2025* I have this hooked up to my Steam Deck, with a mouse, keyboard, and portable monitor. Adapters that pass through alt DP over USB C and have a power input seem very rare, this device looked like the perfect answer but initially it didn't work. The 3 USB-A ports handle peripherals effortlessly, and the USB-C port with DP Alt Mode delivers flawless video output while also charging my device. The design is compact and sturdy, but the non-removable cable is a drawback—it limits flexibility and makes replacement impossible. Despite this, it’s a reliable hub with excellent connectivity. Would have been 5 stars if the cable were detachable! --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.at/products/569770119-startech-4-port-usb-c-hub-10gbps-dp-alt-mode](https://www.desertcart.at/products/569770119-startech-4-port-usb-c-hub-10gbps-dp-alt-mode) --- *Product available on Desertcart Austria* *Store origin: AT* *Last updated: 2026-10-14*
