**Q: What is the maximum weight these pivots can support?**
A: 200 pounds

**Q: I'm installing this in a 2x4 wall with a 2x4 panel.  What is the the clearance needed for it to open and close smoothly?**
A: We have about 1/4 inch clearance.  However I would check further, these hinges do not return the doors to middle automatically.

**Q: Can you use this hinge for a hidden bookshelf door? Outswing and mounted from the left corner? Or does it have to be a center mount?**
A: I used the hinge on a paneled wall on a hidden door, I set it in from the edge 3 inches, the panel opens out and worked great.

**Q: Do these spring liad back to the close position?**
A: No,they don't.

The product seems to work well. I used it for a pivot hindge on a stand mirror. They were very lose and easy swing. If that's not what you want you can tighten it up with a rubber gasket. Screws did not strip easily, a big plus.
