The quality of the book is wonderful...it’s a paperback made with quality heavy paper and good binding, so it will lay almost flat while you are reading. Part II is where individual oils are described with 3 pages devoted to the history of the oil, where it comes from, research studies, key benefits, safety, and the top seven uses of that oil. Part III is devoted to conditions that oils can be used to alleviate. Part IV is special uses of oils in pet care, pregnancy, skin care, cleaning etc., and Part V is recipes - food, cleaning products, health products like cough syrup, lip balm, shampoo and toothpaste. I specifically skipped Part I to review last...Part I is called ‘Foundations’ and while it is good for some ancient history of oils and their uses in pre-modern times in countries with ancient histories, it is written with a biblical view, though not overwhelming so. I am not a believer myself, and I likely would return this book IF the religious bent was from cover to cover; however, I was not put off, and in a 500+ page book, the smattering of religious views dropped in the first 50 or so pages did not keep me from moving on through the book to get to the really, really good stuff!
