Review: Great pair. - So I purchased these because I temporarily lost the ones that I previously wore. Honestly these are a great pair of earplugs and once seated properly are comfortable. There is definitely a major difference in the amount of wind noise and noise in general each pair cuts down. The sport pair is definitely more effective for highway speed but you can still hear what you need to.

The red ones are the sport version and filters double the decibels, according to a Google search (17 to 20), since it's a logarithmic scale, thought our hearing will interpret the noise as just a little louder. With these in place, I keep my blue tooth headset at 100% at over 80 (to 100+) mph and am able to clearly hear my music and navigation clearly, while filtering out background wind noice. My helmet is noisy, being a modular, flip up. The attached chart is from the package itself.

**Q: Is there a reason to even get the tour model when the race would cover all situations?**
A: Only if you have a particularly quiet helmet and relatively quiet exhaust. However, for the small price difference between the single model (touring or race) and this set, why not get both types plus a carrying case? If you unexpectedly take on a passenger, you’ll at least have a pair to offer — it’s better than them going deaf. These things are pretty easy to clean and disinfect afterward so they’ll be ready for the next unexpected passenger or for you to use if you lose one of the other ones.

**Q: Hello, where is this manufactured?**
A: Alpine hearing protection and earplugs are made in the Netherlands.

**Q: Can you purchase the insertion tool separately?  Mine slipped out of my hands and went down a sewer grate.**
A: The insertion tool looks to be about the size of an insulin syringe. Try that.
